NEATH, SENGLAND
Marcus: It’s a shame to see you go, Bryan. It really is.
Calogero: There’s old Marcus over there…anyway, Franco – make the arrangements. It’s time we dropped that weight on those feds’ shoulders.
Francesca: So…
Marcus: Yep… erm…
Francesca: I, erm… heard Manfred Kalevic’s new song on the radio this morning…
Marcus: Oh right, did you…?
Francesca: Yep…
Marcus: …
Francesca: I’m sorry I just don’t know what to say, I didn’t know Bryan as well as I’d hoped to. I thought he was a crook. I underestimated him.
Marcus: Bryan maybe might have not prevented them from raping you, but he did prevent them from killing you, and if he did blow his cover before, you would have been both dead.
Francesca: Yeah…
Marcus: Fancy a drink?
Francesca: Yes please. A large glass of red thanks.
Marcus: Alright.
Francesca: So, you’ve any idea who this new guy is working with Giuliani?
Marcus: Yes, it’s Franco Celli.
Francesca: Franco Celli? Yeah, I’ve heard of him.
Marcus: Oh that’s great! You could tell me more about him?
Francesca: Definitely. I always saw him as quite a soft guy; he lived not to far from where I lived when most Sitalians flocked over to Sengland. He was Jerome Basile’s friend.
Marcus: Jerome, I remember him well.
Francesca: Definitely. He was the owner of the modeling agency and still is. Alberto couldn’t take that away from him. He happened to be friends with Franco.
Marcus: What made him hard?
Francesca: He was smuggling in illegal alcohol from the USN to Sengland. And all of it was going to the modeling agency. Jerome was arrested and served two months of his sentence before they realized it wasn’t him. But then after that he had a short stint in the mafia and it’s still uncertain whether he’s in it or not.
Marcus: What!? I had my trust in him, I let him stay in my apartment for the night!
Francesca: You what!?
Marcus: Then why is he still leading the agency?
Franesca: It’s still owned in his name, but it’s run by others when he’s not around, which is becoming a more often occasion.
Marcus: He’s back working for the mafia then…
Francesca: It’s looks that way, yes.
Marcus: Shit, I gotta wake up.
Francesca: Wake up?
Marcus: Never that matter!
Francesca: Please tell me what you’re talking about…
Marcus: Fancy a dance?
Francesca: Tell me.
Marcus: Listen, you don’t need to know. I’m stressed, you know. Things are hard. We’re all at Bryan’s wake while we should be hunting down Giuliani and Celli. Celli’s going to kill my brother…
Francesca: You should get going then, Bryan wouldn’t want you to lay around, would he?
Marcus: I need to see if I can detect any suspicious behaviour around here first… you know that Calogero was there… he could be hiding somewhere ready to pounce.
Francesca: Was he?
Marcus: Yes…
Marcus: Is that my brother?
Francesca: His name is Harald Redford, I believe so. He’s quite a regular at this pub, as well as a singer here by night. He drinks like a fish though.
Marcus: That’s him.
Francesca: Why are you so wary of who and where he is as if you don’t know him?
Marcus: It’s a long story… please! You don’t need to know!
Marcus: But never mind that… a dream with you in it is a virtue…
Francesca: What!? (Laughs)
Rod: Look at them. They’re a pair of teenagers.
Vincent: I know. Anyway, we should tell them that we need to get going.
Rod: Never mind you lot, I need to get going now.
Vincent: Why now?
Rod: Since I haven’t had the time and we have plenty of time since this wake is far from over, I’m going to see my mother. She’s ill, Vincent.
Vincent: Ah, ok gov. Send her my wishes.
Rod: Will do.
Vincent: Ugh. Get a bloody room.
Voice: Ok, where do we start?
Voice: Aha.
Voice: The end is near, Rodney.
Rod: Hurry up you bastard!
Rod: Huh? Brakes! No brakes! Stop!
Rod: Fuck no!
Rod: Please, no awkward silences. Not my Mighty Mer… oh no… FUCK!
Rod: Whoever has killed the Mighty Mer, I swear on my life, I’ll fucking execute them in front of all their families and friends, because the Mighty Mer humiliates losers. It eats them for breakfast. When I find out who tried to kill me and the Mer… they better hide!
Marcus: In a dream, Vincent, I feel that I can do anything. I’m not really here. You’re just a vision of my past.
Vincent: You can’t prove it.
Marcus: How can I!? Hey? I’m in limbo! But I’ve done nothing wrong to deserve to be here! It’s treasuring me! I’ve met the girl that is so affectionate and beautiful… although this dream is upsetting in the fact that I’ve lost many of my friends.
Vincent: You’re in love with Francesca because you’re committing sin by cheating on your wife! What’s that ring around your finger?
Marcus: Just a ring.
Vincent: Just a ring?
Marcus: Just a ring.
Vincent: You need to sort yourself young man.
Marcus: I’m in my forties, I’m not young.
Vincent: …
Marcus: Hang on… I am young. I’m 15, this is 1984!
Vincent: Indeed!
Marcus: What!?
Vincent: I’m sorry?
Marcus: You agreed that I’m 15!
Vincent: I did? What!? You’re 42, no?
Marcus: You just said it!
Marcus: What the…? Gonzalo! Where’s the ceiling gone?
Gonzalo: What!?
Vincent: Marcus! What on Alterra is wrong with you?
Marcus: I can see the sky! I… I’m coming home!!
Voice: Marcus!
Marcus: Jane, Jake? Is that you? Is that anyone?
Voice: Marcus!
Rod: Marcus! Can you stop dreaming into the future while I’m talking to you!
Marcus: Huh? What!?
Rod: Somebody wants me killed!
Marcus: Well we’re all wanted dead, by the mafia.
Rod: No! The Mighty Mer was rigged! Firstly, it had no brakes, and this triggered a time bomb to go off which I imagine goes off when I’m below 50 miles per hour or some shit like that! They killed the Mighty Mer, Marc! They killed it!
Marcus: Oh… please! I can’t take this anymore!
Marcus: Gonzalo, make us some drinks.
Rod: I need one too. I’m just devastated that the Mighty Mer has gone.
Marcus: You’ll get a new one. You only had the Mighty Mer for a couple of months.
Rod: I want my Mer back!
Voice: Sweet revenge.
Oliver: Sweet oh sweet revenge! (Laughs quietly)
Rod: I need a drink so much!
Rod: Burgh! What did you put in that Gonzalo? (Coughs heavily) Gah help!
Oliver: Times up. And oh yes, I’m back!
Marcus: You fucking son of a…!
Gonzalo: Marcus, watch out!
(Gunshots)
Marcus: …
Marcus: (Cries softly) No… this can’t be happening! No!
Vincent: You just fucking blew your chance to be a good man again big time sunshine!
Oliver: I don’t care.
Vincent: Ok you bastard. I’m going to ask the questions and you’re going to answer them!
Oliver: Ok.
Vincent: Why did you start working with the mafia again?
Oliver: I had nothing better to do. I have no family, no friends. The job to whack you all had high pay… I couldn’t turn the job down, so I opted to work with Calogero again.
Marcus: Again? So you’d already worked with him before?
Oliver: Yeah, as well as a client named Chris. But, his body was found with the bullets of your Bryan’s gun. Bryan was the third. Chris and I discovered that Bryan was indeed a cop, and Bryan heard that they knew, so he went to pay Chris a visit.
Marcus: So why did Bryan never tell us about you?
Oliver: The truth is nobody understood Bryan, or who's side he was on.
Vincent: You know well, Oliver. When Bryan's cover was blown Marcus, Bryan didn't need to act towards the sight of young Oliver here. He was a cop, no longer posing as a mafioso.
Marcus: Did Bryan really do right?
Oliver: Sometimes he wished he wasn't a cop I would guess.
Marcus: No...
Vincent: Maybe he was a bent cop...
Marcus: No he wasn't. I HAD MY BELIEF IN HIM!!
Vincent: Calm down, Marcus.
Marcus: I thought he would help us take down Calogero. But he can't! I'm stuck here, forever.
Vincent: Marcus, you're a good cop. It's not going to be so hard now.
Marcus: We'll only take him down unless we know where he's hiding. My brother dies tommorow. We need to stop him killing Harald and more people I'm sure of it. And who better to tell us where he is than you, Oliver?
Oliver: I can't tell you that.
Marcus: Just tell us where Franco and Calogero are, you scum!
Vincent: Not like that, Marcus. Be calm.
Oliver: No place too low, no place too high.
Vincent: Stop fucking with us… tell us or else you’ll die.
Marcus: Indeed.
Oliver: If I tell you I die.
Vincent: If you tell us we’ll put you in a cell where neither Franco nor Calogero can get to you.
Oliver: He’s at 13 Mainstream Road.
Marcus: Thank you Oliver. So now that's out the way, you pay the price.
Oliver: No. Because now, you die!
(Gunshots)
Vincent: Never!
Vincent: Sleep tight.
